Members of the Animal Welfare Club, University of Ilorin, has recently embarked on an educational expedition to the UNILORIN Zoological Garden, getting a first-hand look at wildlife welfare and conservation practices.
University of Ilorin on Facebook wrote "Our students observed diverse species, assessed habitat and welfare standards, and engaged directly with zoo personnel to understand what animal care truly demands.
"What stood out most is that these students come from different disciplines across the university, proof that animal welfare is a cause that concerns everyone, not just a select few.
"We're proud to see our students championing causes that matter, and we encourage every Unilorin student to proudly join the movement for animal welfare and conservation."
Speaking with a student, Mr Ahmed Bayewu, an performing arts students, he described the club as a reasonable one, says it helps humans to be kind to one another.
"If human can have animals in mind for kind gesture not for consumption, then it will positively affect our minds to fellow human, it's like an act of practicing or nourishing good hearts. It is a good one for them" He concluded
