The Edo State APC Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, has said the All Progressives Congress will win the ongoing Governorship Election in Osun State.
In his statement to Journalists and in an exclusive interview on Saturday, he described the atmosphere as the best for him.
Tenebe explained that the Adeleke-led Government is coming to an end as Ambo, the APC Candidate, is taking over.
"To me, the atmosphere in Osun is calm because it's a familiar atmosphere. I have been around the world, like Liberia and Sierra Leone, for peacekeeping; therefore, anytime I see heavy mobilization of the military, it's always calm for me. I don't know about others.
"The Governor Adeleke has no space here, because he naturally is a member of the PDP, which is now shared into three or four places. One part is in the ADC that we are seeing in Osun State. One part has also been taken to Accord, which has denied him. One part is in the PDP. The PDP is divided into two: one for Wike, which is working for the APC. You can see Oyinlola and Senator Omisore, who are working seriously with our party. And everything is on ground, and we can all see that the election is going to be won by the APC. It's clear. That's what is on ground.
"If anybody is telling you anything differently, the person is not saying the truth. We have our National Secretary from this place, and we are also here to show solidarity to our Chairman here. Most of the State Chairmen are here to show solidarity to our colleague, the Chairman here. And nobody is doing anything illegal here. The election is going to be free and fair, from the way it's going.
"I am convinced that the APC would take the day because elections are won in the morning of the election. And I can tell you that this election has already been won by the APC, with the analysis I am just giving to you. That's why the Governor was ranting and calling names. I think the best way to describe him was how Sowore described him in his interview. We will win the election definitely."
Speaking to one of the All Campus Show excos in Osun State, Comrade Taofeeq Okunola also described the atmosphere as calm. He is reporting from Ward 4, Unit 4, Obokun Local Government, Osun East. This is exactly where Senator Fadahunsi is voting from. He said the election has begun and there is no tension.
Meanwhile, taking a look back at previous years of different Governorship Elections from 2023-2026, and running an analysis of the winners and losers, it is seen that elections are determined by the hard work of the sitting Governor to retain the seat or to bring in a successor, vice versa. Like they say, "No one can fail an 'A' student. The performance will judge."
As the Osun people decide today, with a free and fair election, the event will go into history.
The Adamawa 2023 Governorship Election was one of the most dramatic and controversial polls in 2023. We can also talk about Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna.
During the Adamawa 2023 main election on March 18, 2023, it was declared inconclusive. The supplementary election was on April 15, 2023, and the final declaration was on April 18, 2023, for Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the PDP, re-elected for a second term. The vote for the sitting Governor of the PDP was 430,861 votes, while the APC candidate, Aisha Binani Dahiru, got 398,788 votes.
Although, on April 15, there was REC drama. During the collation of the supplementary results, the Adamawa REC, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, unilaterally declared Binani winner before results from all LGAs were collated. The actual Returning Officer was not present. INEC voided the REC's announcement, suspended collation, and summoned the REC to Abuja. They called it illegal and asked the police to investigate and prosecute him.
Therefore, in the final declaration, the proper Returning Officer, Prof. Mohammed Mele, announced Fintiri as winner on April 18. Fintiri survived to become the first Adamawa governor to win consecutive terms since 1999. The REC’s attempted declaration made it one of INEC’s biggest crisis points in 2023.
The Edo 2024 Governorship Election was held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, as INEC declared results on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Senator Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the APC, won with 291,667 votes. Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, had 247,274 votes.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta of FUT Minna, declared Okpebholo winner.
The APC took back Edo from the PDP after 8 years. Okpebholo won on the back of Edo North, while the PDP swept Edo Central and narrowly won Edo South. Turnout was relatively large despite morning rains.
The Anambra 2025 Governorship Election was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, where the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, was re-elected for a second term with 422,664 votes. The All Progressives Congress candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, had 99,445.
The Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, had just 10,576. ADC’s John Nwosu had 8,208. PDP’s Jude Ezenwafor had 1,401. The question is: does it mean APGA rigged the election? No, just because he is loved by the people, they re-elected him in a free and fair election.
According to INEC, "The number of registered voters was 2,788,864. Accredited voters were 598,229, and around 10% of the accredited voted. INEC said voting was largely peaceful across the 5,718 polling units. 99.58% of results were uploaded to IReV."
The Ekiti State Governorship Election was recently held on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Biodun Oyebanji, the candidate of the APC, was re-elected for a second term.
Results: APC 319,224 | PDP 40,543 | ADC 12,872. He won in all 16 LGAs. INEC declared him winner in the early hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026.
With this analysis, the APC won two out of four. The APC won Edo and Ekiti, the PDP won one, and APGA won one.
Osun will also decide what will go into history today.
