Today again the vacation FCT High Court today presided over by Justice Nwosu Iheme in a case filed against popular youtuber, blogger and self proclaimed freedom fighter, Mr martins Vincent Otse known as very dark man, operating on different social media platforms and Facebook meta platform. The FCT vacation High Court today in today fresh proceedings has again granted another injunctive order of status quo in favour of prophet Jeremiah Omoto Funfenyi of Deliverance Mercy Land International ministry in warri, Delta state. As the FCT High Court today in the court proceedings restated and granted orders of status quo on the above named Very Dark Man from further libeling and doing any futher libelous acts vide internet videos and or publishing by Facebook, YouTube video any defamatory works against Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufenyi.
According to the statement of claim filed by prophet Jeremiah lead Counsel and lawyer, Joel karatu esq in July 2024, the claimant chronicled the various alleged libellous Facebook and social media publications made against him by Very Dark Man.
The plaintiff lamented that the defamatory contents caused him incalculable damage and brought him to ridicule among members of his Church and business partners who are spread across the globe
in a case of alleged libel and defamation, prophet Jeremiah Fufenyi accused Very Dark Man of operating on different social medial platforms of portraying him in bad lights.
The FCT High court heard the matter today even after painstakingly listening to the submissions of lead counsel to prophet Jeremiah, that VDM has gone bersek and on daily basics and different sequence of continuous defamatory videos, he is not just defaming the plaintiff including his church ministry, but regularly also defaming and insulting the plaintiff vide his social media mediums in this regard, the presiding judge after hearing counsel for Very Dark Man in Mr Ademola Oyedoku. Esq who appeared for VDM in an earlier court sittings and made a solemn promise to the FCT high court, that Very Dark Man known as VDM will cease from any further defaming the plaintiff or undermining the suit and proceedings before court was asked by the judge on its reaction. The reaction not satisfactory enough, the judge further warned VDM counsel to properly guide his client or otherwise the necessary actions will be invoked and the court also frowned at the incompetence of the motion to regularize a particular court process filed by Very Dark Man counsel.
The court after hearing all parties, granted a fresh injunctive status quo orders today and then adjourned to 12am Friday 16th August 2024 for definite hearing of all applications.
In court processes dated July 2014, the plaintiff said
“The defendant has posted several cyberbullying and libel videos in which a significant number of it is defamatory to the personality of the plaintiff.”
To underscore the amount of pain the alleged libellous posts had caused him, the plaintiff lawyer said his client has “family members, Church members and friends who are active on social media, and brought his attention to the several defamatory posts against him by the defendant through VDM Facebook and other social media platform.”
He noted that although some of the alleged posts are on VDM Facebook and social media , there exist others which he intends to tender before the court at trial.
