The apex students' national body, the Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMS), we urgently call on the Nigerian Army to investigate and address the unjust and unauthorized actions carried out by a soldier known as Solomon and his team under the Kauran Namoda squad.
This team has wrongfully targeted one of our students, Abubakar, an ND2 student in the Department of Public Administration, who is a well-respected and popular figure within our school community. Due to a personal misunderstanding between two students—one of whom is affiliated with Man O' War and is a friend of the soldiers—these soldiers forcibly entered our school, dragged Abubakar from his hostel, and subjected him to severe physical abuse.
We strongly condemn this selfish and brutal act. Such behavior by individuals who are meant to protect us only serves to undermine the safety and security of our students. We cannot and will not tolerate such injustices within our community.
We demand that the Nigerian Army immediately distance these unjust individuals from our students' community. No authority has given any uniformed personnel the right to arbitrarily pick a student from his hostel and inflict such inhumane treatment upon him. This act was not only unauthorized but also a gross violation of our student's rights.
We hereby call on the Nigerian Army to conduct a full and thorough investigation into this incident. The perpetrators must be held accountable, and justice must be served for our student, Abubakar.
We expect the Nigerian Army to uphold the principles of justice and fairness and to ensure that such incidents never occur again within our student community.
