Truth in Peril: The PDP's Desperate Attempts to Rig the Edo Governorship Election with Lies and False Accusations

The recent accusations against the supporters of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State are misguided and baseless.

There is no evidence to suggest that any supporters of the LP have shown any disrespect or made any insults towards the Oba of Benin, a revered figure in Bini society.

This kind of fake news and false accusation is becoming all too common in Nigerian politics, and only serves to create division and mistrust between different communities.

Instead of spreading false rumors and accusations, we should focus on promoting unity and understanding, and working together to address the challenges facing our country.

The false accusations against the supporters of the Labour Party (LP) appear to be part of a larger smear campaign being waged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State.

It is no surprise that these accusations have been traced back to the Special Advisers (SA) and Senior Special Assistants (SSA) of Governor Obaseki, who are members of the PDP.

By spreading false rumors and accusations, these officials are engaging in a desperate attempt to discredit the opposition and distract from the real issues facing the people of Edo State.

The recent statement issued by the so-called "Benin Elders Group" condemning the alleged insults against the Oba of Benin was a blatant fabrication.

Let’s get the records straight, the legitimate body responsible for representing the interests of the Bini Palace is the Benin Traditional Council, which is made up of the the chiefs and elders of the kingdom and not the so called “BENIN ELDERS GROUP” as used in the headlines.

The recent spate of false accusations against supporters of the Labour Party in Edo State is nothing more than a political charade orchestrated by unscrupulous individuals within the PDP.

While we may know the names of these individuals, they are not worth mentioning as their actions are not worthy of recognition or acknowledgement.

Instead, we must focus on exposing and challenging these deceptive tactics, and holding those who engage in them accountable for their actions.

Only by rejecting the politics of misinformation and manipulation can we build a stronger, more transparent democratic system in Nigeria.
