Protest Day 1: In support of Nigerian students, NLC fulfills promise of a nationwide protest

The Nigerian Labour Congress, ASUU's solidarity partner, has finally followed through on its promise to hold a nationwide strike. In its demand to decry the government's non - compliance attitude and the country's failing educational system, among other issues.

This protest comes just a few days after the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, declared the proposed NLC protest in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities to be illegal.

However, the Minister's statement received no positive response, as many dissatisfied Nigerians and the Union took to the streets in some parts of the country to express their dissatisfaction and grievance with the government's snail reactions to ASUU's demands.

The protest which commenced today covered the North, West, East, and Southern parts of the country and it's slated to continue tomorrow, Wednesday, 27th, 2022.
