The one-time giant of Africa is now crawling amongst other African countries as a result of voluntary corruption and bad governance.
Amongst other titles is a high rate of insurgency, Inflation, Insecurity, poverty, poor power supply, hunger, socio-economic disasters, Injustice, and deaths.
It is safe to say that the Military regime paid us citizens, better than Democracy. Democracy in clear terms is supposed to be the bedrock of good governance which will in turn lead to the stabilization of the system.
However, Nigerian Democracy can be termed the worst nightmare anyone would want to experience.
Since the adaptation of the system, it is no longer news that things have gone from bad to worse.
A fundamental aspect of democracy is the respect for human rights which our current system constantly violates.
This has led to the formation of Human Rights Activists over the years in the absence of past heroes who have fought to uphold Justice.
There are few to talk about who have dedicated their lives to bringing falling Nigeria back on its feet. Talking about this we will like to refer to the number one Human Rights Activist in Nigeria, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor.
Dr. Patrick was born into the family of Palmer Osagie Eholor on 24th December 1964, grew up in Edo state from an average family with his parents as traders.
Chief Patrick was determined from a very young age to be successful.
He recalls a time in his early days when his father had to make him choose between Christmas attire and going to school.
Before relocating to Canada he ventured into odd jobs like newspaper and Kerosene selling just to acquire a means of living to further his education.
Despite challenges surrounding him as a teenger, he fought peer pressure, overcame and became Inspired by great minds like Martin Luther King Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, and Ransome Fela Kuti whom he described as unique, real, sincere, natural, and a brain that Nigeria lost.
Known for his beliefs on equal rights and Justice, Chief Dr. Patrick Eholor, popularly referred to as Ultimate Equal, recently awarded a Doctorate in humanity, has been involved in the public interest for the past 25 years.
He brought the Freedom of Information Act during the late President Musa Yaradua’s regime, took ASUU to Court, and was a major solicitor to end SARS brutality.
His determination to meet the communication needs of humanity, Dr. Patrick established an E-telephone company in Nigeria, which aided easy communication in his locality.
In addition, Chief Patrick named the business Ultimate Equal, which he later changed to Ultimate Equal Simplicity. He also asserts that nothing is impossible with God and confirmed his Chieftaincy as hereditary, born out of pride and respect.
His disgust for poverty drove him never to settle for less. So he determined to strive and hustle for the great future he envisage.
His advice to the younger generation is to take back their country and follow the right paths to make money.
He encourages household bonding and urged parents and society at large to stop condemning youths.
He further commends youths who are resilient in the pursuit of positive dreams and urged them to stop crime and shun corruption.
According to him until we know that everyone is equal we won't stop.
Quoting Chief Eholor, he said, "everyone has red blood, nobody has blue blood, Nobody has blue blood despite the title."
When we asked about his relationship with Professor Patrick Utomi and Tony Akeni, he said that he was proud to be associated with great minds like them.
In his words "if you want to change then do not permit compromise."
Furthermore, he described them as people who are realistic to change the narrative and have determined not to compromise.
