EDO ALL STARS WINS THE MAMA EBO PEPER RICE VETERAN FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
The second edition of Mama Ebo Pepper Rice Veterans Football Tournament finally comes to a conclusion on Sunday the 23rd of May 2021 with Edo all stars emerging as the winners of the tournament.
The third-place match of the tournament which was scheduled to be played on Sunday the 23rd of May 2021 at Uwa football pitch between the uphill veterans and Uwa all-stars started around 1pm which Uwa all-stars won with 1-0.
However, at about 3pm after when Uwa All stars have dragged their opponent on the ground, the two giant teams met for the final at the same venue, the final match which started between Esan All-stars and Edo All-stars, the match was fair enough which at the end, Edo All-stars won Esan All-stars with 2-1.
Therefore, Edo All-stars as the winners of ‘The Mama Ebo Pepper Rice Veteran Football Tournament’ parted away with the star price of Four hundred thousand naira (N400,000) while the second placed team, Esan All-stars went away with the price of Two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) and Uwa All-stars received one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) for the 3rd place.
The Main Organizing Committee (MOC) showed their gratitude for the huge success of this tournament, according to the secretary of the MOC, Mr Paul Ojeisekhoba said, the second edition of this tournament is a success and better than the maiden edition, Mr. Ojeisekhoba also said that the third edition is going to be more eventful than this, he revealed that the tournament needs more sponsors to make the tournament more standard than ever before, the future of this tournament is to take it to the national and international standard where retired and veterans football players would come to Edo state to play this tournament and this would be our pride in Edo State.
