THE OONI OF IFES ADIRE OODUA HUB HOSTS CROWD OF STUDENTS TO CELEBRATE CHILDREN'S DAY.

 ADIRE OODUA HUB AND OONI OF IFE HOST CROWD OF STUDENTS TO CELEBRATE CHILDRENS DAY. 





Adire Oodua Hub in conjunction with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, The Ooni of Ife host students from various schools at Oonirisa palace in Ile-Ife.


The Adire Oodua Hub is an Adire/Textile production company which manufactures Adire/Textile fabrics for multi-purpose use like Wedding Aso-Ebi, Political Campaigns Uniform as well as other social and corporate wears, the Adire Oodua Hub is located in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.

The event took place on the world children’s Day which annually celebrated on May 27th and this was on Thursday 27th of May, 2021.

Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, the Founder of Adire Oodua Textile Hub which is under the chairmanship of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, The Ooni of Ife says the goal of the event is to stimulate and sensitize young people about the cultural and economic benefits of wearing Adire and to expose them to the beauty  and versatility of the material by providing free training for the children on their world celebration day. Princess Ademiluyi also said Adire Oodua in conjunction with the Ooni Palace decided to celebrate children’s day with a difference, by hosting over 500 children from various schools in the community to a free Adire workshop. Therefore, to enable the brand to use Adire to teach the children importance of our heritage so that they could understand that Adire is more than just a fashionable fabric but it is rooted deep in our culture and heritage as it is a craft passed over from generations to generations.


Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife said that as the Chairman of Adire Oodua Textile Hub, seeing young ones that have interest in culture gives him joy. Kabiyesi in his words revealed that Adire is a cloth and fabrics that originated from our ancestors over thousands of years ago and it is a very lucrative business and that is the reason why he continually sponsors the free training at the Textile Hub to mark Osun State as the home for tye and dye.

Oba Adeyeye   also said that the event is to celebrate the young ones and to engage them in the free Adire training. Kabiyesi continues by saying that the children came in their hundreds from various schools and we also engaged the services of a blind artisan Africa craft to teach the children the mixing of colors for Adire making.

The event was a huge success as the children learnt so much about the craftmanship of Adire and went home with various cash prizes from our chairman, His Imperial Majesty.
