To identify individuals embodying the values and mission of Mr & Miss Unical 2023/2024, The Director of Socials organized a comprehensive audition on January 27, 2024, with approximately 30 contestants participating. The participants exhibited a polished and well-groomed appearance, maintaining good posture in their white tops and black pants.
Judges, including Queen Ofem Wofia, and King Jerome Joseph (Mr & Miss Unical), King Uti Ibanga, (Mr Universe Southern King) observed qualities such as confidence, poise, positive demeanor, and engaging personalities. The audition featured confident walks, sustained eye contact, a talent showcase, and demonstrations of intelligence and thoughtful expression.
In a conversation with Opoke Joshua, the Director of Socials, regarding the desired qualities for participants, he mentioned, "We are searching for a model possessing the most fitting qualities to proudly wear the crown and represent effectively." When questioned about the criteria employed by the judges to assess contestants, he responded, "Judges assess contestants based on their characters, attire, confidence, and charisma."
Miss Onyinyechi Precious, one of the contestants, expressed her motivation for participating, emphasizing her confidence as a plus-sized lady. In an interview, she shared, "I came here because I'm a plus-sized lady, and I am confident. I love my body, I am not lazy, and the discouraging remarks from others have never affected me."
The audition aimed to select contestants who not only meet the aesthetic standards but also exemplify confidence, intelligence, and a positive mindset, aligning with the values and mission of Mr & Miss Unical 2023/2024.
