The Father of Nigerian Students-FONS, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor has come out to condemn the closure of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma over the protest by the students against the school fees hike.
In his statement with our correspondence today, Dr. Eholor said "It is very sad news and painful that on 1/9/2023 Students of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma protested against the present increase of school fees where on the 4th September 2023, the University authority closed the school.
"The academic calendar is foregoing but the students are still at home incurring debts to their parents. Most of the students are afraid to travel to meet their parents because of bad roads, kidnapping, transport fare and others. These are many more challenges bedeviling the education sector in this country and one thing that seems to amaze me is that Austine Osakwe who is a human Right activist that knows about the importance and impact of education and he is one of the core member of the SPECIAL INTERVENTION TEAM in Ambrose Ali University, a person who is supposed to be on the side of the student and also supposed to resist the madness of the government but he failed the student"
Meanwhile, Dr. Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal and the father of Nigerian Students-FONS has given a 74 hours ultimatum to the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to look into this issue and failure to do that under the given time, he said he will resist him.
