The Activist Barrister, M.O. Idam, Esq has filed an action before the Abuja Federal High Court against the Senate President today.
Prior to letter Idam wrote to the Senate President on the 11th of August 2023, demanding among others, the informations regarding the source of the money disbursed to his colleagues for holiday enjoyment which has not yielded any positive response.
In his statement with the Journalists today, Idam said "Recall that I wrote a letter to the Senate President on the 11th of August 2023, demanding among others, the informations regarding the source of the money disbursed to his colleagues for holiday enjoyment.
"In line with my resolve to question the management of our common patrimony by those in public office, I have on this day 12th of October 2023, filed an action before the Federal High Court, Abuja against the Senate President, praying the court to compel him to release the information requested in my letter.
"The motive for my action is to simply to demand accountability by those in public office. The era of reckless spending of public funds by those in government should be over. No Nigerian is superior to other Nigerians.Those entrusted with public funds must be frugal in their dealings with it especially as millions of Nigerians are living abject poverty."
