IPPIS: Federal Government gives new procedures for Tertiary Institutions Exit.

The federal Government has outlined new steps regarding the procedure for Tertiary Institutions to change from the Intergarted Personnel and Payroll Information system.(IPPIS).


This new development is targeted at allowing these Institutions to be Independent and Improving the payroll management system efficiently and effectively.  It also has the approval from the Federal Executive Council.


According to a news report on PUNCH,"In a circular dated Octobet 8, 2024, The Accountant General of the federation,  Dr Oluwatoyin Madein provided details of the transition plan.



Also According to the circular, the payroll for October 2024, will be handled by the IPPIS, while from November, the Institution will have direct control of their payroll.


The Accountant General Office of the Federation IPPIS department will checkmate this records and the payments will be conducted by the Government,Intergrated Financial Managrment Information System (GIFMIS).


However, Mrs Madein emphasized the Importance of obeying this new guidelines, while According to her, "The payrolls for October will be handled by the IPPIS while the Novembet and December 2024 payrolls will be handled by the Institutions,  checked by OAGF,IPPIS and payment done with the GIFMIS platform.


Also the Federal Tertiary Institutions must complete and submit the GIFMIS Enrollment forms by October 21,2024 for a good transition, and the Institutions are also to submit these forms at the AGF's Headquarters in Abuja or any other Nationwide.


The Institutions must also confirm, and upload the account details of their employees onto the GIFMIS Platform on the same deadline which is Octobwr 21, 2024  and the Institutions should arrange and submit any Outstanding promotion and Salary arrears to the Budget office of the Federation.


Finally thus new development has been accepted by the Academic Unions including the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
