Human Rights Activist, Chief Dr.Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise as the Ultimate Equal, has , stressed the need for Nigerians to respect the Country's Currency at all times.
He did this in an interview on Saturday 21-1-23 , with journalists in Benin City, where he affirmed that the Nigerian Naira is now a commodity often sold at Marriage and Funeral ceremonies.
Dr. Patrick said respecting the Country's Currency Is Sovereignty, and further Called out money instititutions for their corrupt practices, referring to them as Cooperate Criminals having agents, that act as vendors of the Currency in Parties. According to him, such corrupt practices aids and abet Kidnapping and other Fraudulent acts.
Dr. Patrick also narrated an experience he had while attending a friend's ceremony.
He said the money vendor requested for Seven thousand Naira as a prerequisite for having Twenty thousand Naira.
He also lamented how banks deny Citizens access to 'mint' and are given mutilated money at withdrawal points, where as, bundles of it are seen on display regularly in the hands of these agents on several Occasion.
" Mint should voluntarily be given to us when we go to the bank.it's a crime to sell Nigerian Currency.
" However, the police have turned blind eye to it. This disgraceful act must be put to stop and therefore make life easy for Nigerians.
Furthermore, in a bid to end the illegal act, Patrick disclosed his intention to take the CBN Governor to the Senate floor.
"I am taking Emefiele to the Senate floor to explain why mint does not circulate but is being sold in Marriages and Funerals. If the response is not tangible, then I have no other option than to sue them. Maybe the Court will settle it." Patrick Said.
