Why should Trees be found on Campuses?

 


Over the years, In a bid to acquire knowledge students are bound to relocate to areas of their choice of institution. 


 However, there is always something different about relocation. For some students, it is the People or the Culture, for some, it could be the environment or the lack or presence of basic amenities. Whichever it is, there has to be a speedy adaptation if you must enjoy your stay. 

Talking about the environment, the benefit of horticultural practices cannot be under-emphasized especially in academic institutions. Aside from having other shaded structures, it remains an undisputed fact that trees contribute to the beauty of campus surrounding as well as the positive impact on the human immune system.

 According to science, plants are stable sources of oxygen. Spending time around “green shades” contributes to your health, mentally and physically.


In another research spending five minutes a day around trees or flowers increases mental, and physical health benefits, fosters our immune system, lower blood pressure, and fights depression.

Some plants can also serve as medicinal herbs and suppliers of fruits. 


Asides from that shades from trees also serve as relaxation centers for students on campus, as well as a mini library for them. For instance, those on campuses surrounded by trees cannot deny the beautiful experience of fresh air or fluid assimilation while reading or relaxing in such an atmosphere.

 Especially when taking a break from the rush of daily academic activities. 

Also, planting trees on campuses aids the learning process as it provides a suitable and serene environment that is comfortable for learning. 

The act of planting trees on campus should be encouraged in many departments because it helps sheds students from a tedious activity they undergo during the acquisition of knowledge.



 In another sense, this act can also generate income for institutions.

 When these plants are well cared for, they can serve as centers of attraction, especially for students to understand the value of plants.

In conclusion, Institutions that are not abreast of the advantages of tree planting and other horticultural practices on campus should consider the aforementioned benefits and adhere.
