Strike still counting: Our schools have become a desert place

ASUU STRIKE: Who do you miss in School?

Who would have taught that a 2 weeks warning strike will evolve to a hundred and fifty-two days, and still counting!

In the history of Federal Educational Institutions, readers on this platform will agree that there is Only one event dreaded by Students.

This event has turned our prestigious institutions into desert places void of their original intent of creation.

This event is none other than ASUU STRIKE!

Over the years the dispute between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal government seems never-ending, always resulting in a strike.

However, there is nothing new under the sun as it is now a constant experience for the average federal University students and Lecturers! Although the strikes are aimed at the betterment of our Institutions, their outcome connotes a major setback in the academic journey of every student. While we anticipate the speedy launch of school activities again, it is safe to say that readers on this page without doubt are certainly missing something about school.

For some, it is their Space, lovers, Friends, Roommates, Hostels, or utensils. For others It could be their favorite food vendors, outings, Sporting activities or Clothes left behind, and for some others, it might be classes and lectures, Group meetings and members, their Lecturers, Fellowships, Seminars, and Inaugurations, or everything about School

Which could it be for you? What do you miss about school and most importantly, who do you think misses you?
