The Nigerian Police have arrested four suspects over the death of Mr. Ibrahim Pilasar Mbaya, fondly called IBEE, a 400L Political Science student at the University of Jos.
IBEE, a 25-year-old from Adamawa State, was a model and social media influencer.
The incident happened a few days ago. According to a student who spoke to All Campus Show, he heard that Ibee went to his friend's house to spend the night before the ugly incident occurred. A phone was reported missing, and Ibee was accused of being the one who took it.
According to the student, jungle justice was carried out against him. He said he saw some students beating Ibee with planks, and that was captured in a video posted by Prince Miaphen on Facebook.
According to Lady Nnaka, she said: "Ibee, a 25-year-old boy... a model and a social media influencer, had an event close to his friend's lodge. He couldn't finish the event on time and decided to sleep over in his friend's house... (School lodge) UNIJOS. In the morning, he left and the friend started looking for his phone and accused Ibee of stealing the iPhone 12. They carried out jungle justice, beating Ibee to an unconscious state. They took him to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. Three of the boys have been arrested by the Police."
Lady Nnaka also said: "I heard it was one of the guys that took the phone to school to charge. Before he could come back, they had beaten Ibee to death. I smell envy, jealousy, and hatred... Be careful who you call friends.
