The Freedom Ambassador Organization has written a petition and press briefing against the corruption practices in the Police Force.
The National Coordinator of the Freedom Ambassador Organization, Comrade Curtis Ogbebor as well as other executives and members of the organization has made a petition to demand the investigation of CSP Adesuwa Omoruyi, DPO of Aideyan Police Division for allegedly corrupt practices and conspiracy with the criminal to jump bail, evade prosecution and pervert justice.
The petition was written to the office of The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5 police headquarters in Benin City with the letter headings "Police Abuse of office, corruption practices, conspiracy with criminal suspect to jump bail, evade prosecution and pervert justice orchestrated by CSP Adesuwa Omoruyi, the Aideyan Police Division"
In his remarks during the briefing, Ogbebor explained the recent incident of one Mr Patrick Ajayi who allegedly breached the marriage contract between himself and his wife. He explained that he left his wife abroad and came to Nigeria to marry another woman. Ogbebor made this known to the public that, remarrying is not the major issue here but the major issue is the allegedly corrupt practice by the police, the DPO Aideyan Police station who released Mr. Patrick Ajayi without the knowledge of the complainant, said this act by the police must stop.
After a peaceful walk to Ring Road round about after the briefing. Mrs Sandra Obayagbonna explained that her aunt in Canada, Mrs Mabel Patrick called she got information that her husband is planning to get married in Benin City at the ministry of interior for court wedding and Obayagbonna said she they went there to witness it and testified that it was true and where they were arguing, some men of the police force came to settle the matter as they took all of them to the station.
She also explained that the police were pleaded not to allow the suspect to have access to his seized international passport but unfortunately, her aunt who is Mabel Patrick called that her husband who they thought was still in police custody in Nigeria has been released and now in Canada.
Comrade Ogbebor complained about how the police treated the common man.
