The One Love Foundation has received alarming information regarding an underhanded scheme to manipulate the upcoming Edo State governorship elections in favor of the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
Recently, information surfaced regarding an alleged ploy to transport registered Edo State voters residing in Abuja to their respective villages. This was reportedly aimed at influencing the upcoming governorship elections in favor of the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo. The scheme called on voters to register their names at Edo House in Central Area, opposite the Ministry of Finance, and present their voter's card as a means of identification.
The One Love Foundation vehemently condemns this alleged attempt to weaponize poverty and exploit the vulnerability of citizens. We denounce any actions that infringe upon the democratic rights of individuals to freely choose their preferred candidate.
Furthermore, we call upon Godwin Obaseki and PDP leaders to put an immediate end to these manipulative tactics, which not only undermine the sanctity of our democratic process but also sow seeds of mistrust among the public.
The people of Edo State deserve better than these deceitful and unethical practices. It is time for political leaders to prioritize the well-being of the people over their hunger for power.
