Unmasking the Metamorphosis of Political 'Gangster Writers.

…..A Tale of Mercurial Pens and Muddied Inks

In an era plagued by mafias and gangsters vying for territory, a new breed of assassins has emerged – the 'political gangster writers.' These pens-for-hire have seemingly compromised the integrity of the written word, transforming their craft into a tool for political manipulation.

Once revered as the fourth estate, writers were the fearless crusaders who exposed the truth, allowing citizens to drink from the fountain of knowledge. Yet, the piece by Erasmus Ikhide lamenting the decay of our educational institutions under Godwin Obaseki's administration and him cross carpeting to the political party he writes against begs the question: are political gangster writers undergoing a Kafkaesque metamorphosis?

As a friend and admirer of Erasmus, I am left perplexed by this apparent volte-face. It seems our wordsmiths are entangled in a web of Machiavellian machinations, their loyalty swayed by the siren song of stomach infrastructure and political favor. This begs the question: does the modern writer possess a price tag?

The quandary of Erasmus Ikhide serves as a cautionary tale, a parable that underscores the need to remain steadfast in our commitment to truth and objectivity. As writers, our calling transcends the shackles of partisanship; our allegiance is to the people, and our pens must illuminate the path to a better tomorrow.

In a world teetering on the precipice of moral decay, we must remain vigilant against the seductive allure of political influence. The Erasmus Ikhide of our time are not alone; they are but a reflection of a deeper malaise that plagues our society. Let us strive to cure this affliction, for it is only through the unadulterated power of the written word that we may forge a future defined by truth, justice, and the unbreakable spirit of the people.
