The Father of Nigeria Students, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor (FONS) otherwise known as Ultimate Equal and Senior advocate of the Masses has condemned the downgrading system of the country.
FoNS in a trending video and article title "NIGERIA NEEDS A MINISTER OF INTERIOR, AN EXPERIENCED OFFICER WHO HAVE SERVED AND RETIRED UNDER ANY PARAMILITARY AGENCY DIRECTLY UNDER INTERIOR MINISTRY. IT WILL MEANS PUTTING THE RIGHT PEGS IN THE RIGHT HOLES."
Dr. Eholor said in the article that "It is painful to know that Nigeria have never had a minister of interior who is so knowledgeable about their duties as minister of interior as every government of the day continue to fixture their political boys to take charge of the ministry. Presently, Nigeria needs as minister of interior any officer who have served and retired meritoriously from Nigeria correctioner service or Nigeria immigration service to pilot the affairs of ministry of interior because they know the problems faced by inmates in the correctional centres, officers who worked in the agencies directly under ministry of interior and by extension, putting the right pegs in the right holes.
"We can also recall that Over 80 officers posted out to represent Nigeria and to work in Nigeria embassies overseas were recently recalled by Comptroller General of Nigeria immigration in person of Kemi Nana Nandap on the directive of the minister of interior few weeks after the retirement of Caroline Wuraola Adepoju who have previously enlisted the recalled officers for foreign posting outside Nigeria. This decision have been termed to be abnormal by many career immigration officers, who further see the action of the CG immigration and minister of interior as removing the names of those formally enlisted for the foreign posting and replaced with their own relatives within the immigration system.
"We can also recall that few months ago, Hon Olubumi Tunji Ojo the minister of interior was quoted to have been involved in corruption case where he have connived with the minister of Humanitarian ministry in person of Hon Betta Edu who happened to be her girl friend to syphon over billions of Naira in the name of shady contract awarded to his personal company which the minister of interior established and he is a managing director of the firm but later denied not being the director of the said company on National television and not knowing anything about the shady contract in a bit to exonerate himself from the financial scandal. We would have expected that anyone found in such financial scandal would have immediately resign from such a sensitive office but yet the minister of interior continue to make a whole lot of blunder as he continues to mislead the leadership of Nigeria immigration service with new passport policies that can truncate our national security by the cancellation of provision of guarantors by passport applicant and also allowing minors to procure international passport without being screen which is against section 11 of Nigeria immigration act and section 40 of immigration regulations.
"We expect that by now the minister of interior Hon Olubumi Tunji Ojo would have end the contract of Iris and sucket works who are private partners within Nigeria immigration service and build Nigeria immigration mint and print in Nigeria immigration service headquarters in Abuja, employ Expatriate for immigration officers to understudy them within a short period of one year for the purpose of timely availability of passport booklet which would have increase the financial revenue generated by Nigeria immigration service instead of the 60% international passport and residence permit revenue presently used to service private partners. Nigerians cannot also continue to wait for passport booklet to come from Malaysia where it is presently produced before giving international passport to our citizens. Again, the Minister of interior should ensure passport booklets are produced here in Nigeria and also recognize that the issues of international passport productions delays do not comes from immigration officers but as a result of the unavailability of international passport booklet as the Comptroller of Nigeria immigration Service has to wait until international passport booklet is being sent from Malaysia before Nigerians can be issues international passport. Until we realized that The real world is constantly changing and that the Processes in governance has to change too.
"Lastly, the Minister of interior Hon Olubumi Tunji Ojo is not a trained immigration officer but continue to wrongly interferes with the statutory management of Nigeria immigration service presently managed by a career immigration head in person of Kemi Nana Nandap who is presently dancing to the turn of the minister of interior as she will be retiring soon and will likely be seeking extension of service like her other counterpart who have retired from the service did. Reference to advance country like Canada, before procuring a Canadian international passport, you must need a Canadian who is a lawyer, Doctor or a police officer to consent being a guarantor before such international passport can be issued. Nigeria shouldn't be an exception.if the truth shall kill them let them Die!!"
