Benin City-As it's flying everywhere that the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo asked Peter Obi to take permission from him before entering Edo State, is a security caution not enemity statement. This is a security call that the state governor answers for any incident that may occur in the state.
However, the governor is not banning Peter Obi not to enter Edo State but saying he should take his permission before entering. Many don't ask why before attacking. Do you know that structurally, if a president is going to a state, he will have to inform the Governor of the state, so why do we like to raise unrealistic and unreasonable alarms on issues that does not matter?
Although, no governor has authority to say any Nigerian should not come to his state but can caution anyone to take his permission before coming, they are two different things that even common sense can acknowledge and understand. The first agenda of any Governor or president is to prioritize security for his people as securing lives and properties is the major aim of any government.
Many may say Edo government have paid me for this but I will tell you that the government does not have that time at all, they have their communication experts, also I am not working for the government but the truth must be said. I am not coming to attack Peter Obi in order to support Okpebholo, no one was there when I also spoke for Peter Obi in 2024 but let me share the reason why I have come out to support Okpebholo this time around.
I will like to educate you in case you are not aware that the governor currently is fighting kidnapping and Cultism issues in Edo, seeking peace in his state, it will be wrong for the governor of Edo if he refuses to put this check on Peter Obi who spoke about bringing war to Nigeria if he becomes the president of Nigeria.
In case you missed the LIVE interview of Peter Obi with Seun Okinbaloye few weeks ago, the exclusive interviewer of the Channels Television's 'Politics Today' program. Okinbaloye in his question to Obi after Obi had allegedly criticized many things about the state of the nation, Okinbaloye asked Obi in this interview session what he will do differently to make peace in Nigeria, Peter Obi answered and said he will declare war- WAR? Is cutting head the solution to headache? I was shocked and my future hope in Peter Obi cut away.
Okpebholo may not want war in his state, therefore that may be the reason why he told Mr P.O to take his permission before entering Edo in order to prepare security to be on check as Edo does not want war in his state, this is the mindset all the Governor must have like the way Anambra Governor, Professor Charles Soludo said, Anambra Governor explained that "Fulani not kidnapping igbo, Igbo kidnapping Igbo" this is the kind of truthful Governor we need, meaning Yoruba may also be kidnapping Yoruba and so on but no one has come to speak this kind of truth.
Recently, the IPOB plans to celebrate Peter Obi's 64 years birthday by making a rally in Kaduna, the name Peter Obi is now like a security threat that many Governors have started looking into, the security needs to be put on check first, with a smart Governor of kaduna state, the police halted the IPOB plan which no one talks about.
In conclusion, it is not only senator Monday Okpebholo, the executive Governor of Edo that is checking up on the security of his state, as it has been mentioned above, stated the states talking about security and cautioning it, Anambra and Kaduna as case study of what Okpebholo decision may be.
Therefore, I will urge all Nigerians to focus on tackling security which is the paramount in government affairs, let's all say no to any source of insecurity and support our leaders in this course of bringing peace back to our land.
