Federal Government has given out huge food items and cash to the all the Legislators in Nigeria to cushion the effect of the pains arising from the removal of the Subsidy regime as it was announced by Dennis Idahosa in a viral video.
This is just like as it was in 2020 when the Federal Government released the Covid-19 palliatives to states to ease the stress on the masses but unfortunately, the people lack good representatives.
Mostly according to reports and different incidents, the enemies of the masses that cause bad governance are not mainly the Federal Government but the officials between the Federal Government and the people who odd the benefits of government, hinder them by getting to the people.
It was learnt that noone can be trusted again, different report flying around, talking about the 2023 Christmas Palliatives released by the Federal Government does not get to people or is it that some news reports hyped FG that palliatives were released for people, this has been a controversial issue among the people.
Southern Legislators especially Osun, allegedly sold their own portion of the Rice (worth N1.5billion) to their northern colleagues, pocketed the money and claimed they are yet to receive a thing from the President.
According to Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal, Global President of One Love Foundation says "Only Honourable Wole Oluwole Oke II from Ìjèsà North Federal Constituency and perhaps, Senator Lere Oyewumi who I gathered also shared some food items, have been dignified enough to declare/show they received the items from FG but can FG love only Ijesa North Federal Constituency and Osun West Senatorial District alone by focusing on only them in Osun State? or is it that the palliatives shared by these Osun Lawmakers is from their personal pocket?
"The people must be aware of this that you have enemies in the elected legislators you gave your mandates the other time. The APC FG is not the one causing pains to you!
Each House of Reps member got N100m worth of Rice/grains, while Senators got N200m worth."
Although, in a chitchat between Dr. Eholor and Senator Bernards Imasuen, a senator representing Edo South Senatorial District told Eholor that "The truth is that I do not know what goes on in the lower chambers, the House of Representatives. At the Senate, I can tell you authoritatively that no money has been given to the Senators.
On my own, I provided a cow and 15 bags of Rice to each of my local governments for the holidays.
It's a shame that matters of palliative have become scandalous. It shouldn't be."
In a statement by Chief Dr. Patrick Eholor, he said he is not sure that none of the Edo state Lawmakers received the Palliatives as most of them came out to deny the palliatives : "The bigger problem we are having in this society is that our present lawmakers do not have good leadership and integrity, they assume the roles of leadership, they don't respect their constituencies because there is noone to hold them accountable, the leadership and integrity should be tested before voting for them, when the leadership have respect and values, they will not take decision without carrying their constituencies along, the instance of people like Hon. West Idahosa, my late brother Sunny Aguebor, and many others then will never take action without respecting their constituencies but now, things have changed"
Furthermore, Eholor boasted that noone dares to odd palliatives in Edo State again.
Although, in 2020, many states odd the palliatives given by the Federal Government which Edo was among but noone can try it again, Eholor emphasized that "Boys in Edo 'no dey play ooo because their eyes red' those days of embezzling public fund in Edo is over." Dr. Eholor said
