Governor Obaseki’s Godson, Asue Ighodalo Should Build Schools In His Village, I Did Same Without Political Office — Dr. Eholor

CHIEF (Dr) Patrick Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal and President of One Love Foundation, the Father of Nigerian Students-FoNS has called out Mr Asue Ighodalo, Governor Godwin Obaseki’s godson to fixing dilapidated schools in his Ewohinmi village, saying he did same without at his mother’s Utoka village without holding any political office.

"Education, they say, is THE LIGHT OF A NATION, but what becomes of a NATION with leaders who care less for the Education sector”?

In his word, Dr. Eholor said “The state of Education in Nigeria is a tragedy, and it’s time we put the blame where it belongs: The politicians have been more concerned with lining their pockets than investing in schools, and the rich have been hoarding their wealth instead of supporting education initiatives.

“As a result, our schools are crumbling, our teachers are underpaid, and our students are suffering. The government and the rich need to wake up and realize that education is the foundation of a strong society, and they need to start investing in it.

“I watched a video with utmost dismay! I am calling out on Ojezele Sunday Osezua the PDP state House of Assembly member representing Esan South East to wake up to his responsibilities and fix all the dilapidated schools in his constituency.

“Sometimes when I watch such disturbing videos I begin to wonder if our leaders are deliberately wicked.

“You contested for a position just to serve the people and before you attained that position you went round various places soliciting for support and votes when the people finally vote you in the next thing you go mute and possibly block every means possible, so no one except your families and political elite can reach out to you!

“To all the governorship candidates that are coming out gradually to canvas for support especially the one Obaseki is projecting, Mr Asue Ighodalo, you all don’t have to be elected as Governor or Senator before you can execute a project in your local communities.

“You should show yourself worthy of that position first before coming out for any position.

“I’ve done my part by rehabilitating some schools in my mother’s land UTOKA and I did so without the support of anyone and I don’t have the intention to come out for any political position.

“You all can do the same for the betterment of Edo state and Nigeria at large”

"Although, Governor Godwin Obaseki may feel like projecting anyone he wants, this candidate has gone for a very long time, who does not know the geographical locations in Edo State and also, Godwin Obaseki has to show what he has done for many years.

"Meanwhile Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu on the other hand has criticized Ighodalo, in this case, I have always said that Philip Shaibu has right to contest because he is a citizen and with this, there is a splits and factions already in PDP, it is going to be hard for APC to get the post as we always believe that 'Edo no be Lagos' and as it is known that they brought Obaseki to power through APC who now went to PDP.

Therefore, we must all rally round the L.P candidate to be victorious, although it's not by party or by name of any candidate but competent and character and who has sympathy for people, we should know this election is not going to be on feelings and emotions, it's also not going to be on geographical location or rotational, I don't believe in that Federal character, it has not been helping is as a nation." Dr. Eholor concluded.
