The centralisation of the authority and commands of the NPF has always been associated with the challenges or problems of the force. There are also the problems of bribery and corruption in the force, cum lack of manpower, lack of scientific and technological equipments for detection of crimes.

"The Ondo State Police Command has described the ongoing general transfer of men of the Nigeria Police Force across the nation which affected some of its men as routine exercise targeted at better service delivery.
"The Hope Metro learnt that no fewer than 20 officers and men of the command have been transferred out of the state in the last one week.
"The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the development to The Hope Metro described the exercise as a normal thing meant to bring better performance, especially in the areas of crime prevention, detection and control in the society.
Meanwhile, speaking with a nationalist in Edo State, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal, the Father of Nigerian Students-FONS and Global President of One Love Foundation spoke on this with the Journalists in his house today, he said
"This is a society where we police the police, I police the police and we must continue it because we have been getting it wrong.
"Talking about our brothers from the north and the appointment given to them in the force department, especially police, imagine a man from Kaduna as a police head in Benin City, he will not know the foundation of crimes and corner ways out, he will not be able to do the work effectively because he does not know anything about the land but our northern brothers paid a lot to be transferred here because they know there is land grabbing cases in Edo State, cultism also as well as other crimes here and they know most of our people here are coward who don't want to go to jail, they fear even when they are not wrong.
"Therefore, they sell their blood and their properties to give our northern brothers so they will not go to jail.
But I, Ultimate Equal will not give money, take me to jail. Until we tell people to stay from doing wrong, when we cannot take the hit, we should not stay in the kitchen, if you commit a crime, be a man and face the consequences, go to jail, when you come back, reform yourself, that will be a lasting solution and police should ensure that making all the zonal heads to come from one region or one geo political zone is not helping, it is just adding to the problems, to police people is to balance things and reason well but when they are given black and black uniform with guns they think they have power to misbehave or exploit people, they even go far to do stop and search, puting hands into people's private parts, searching for what? No policeman has right to search without a search warrant.
"Talking about state police here is not visible because most state government will use them for their selfish interest as they use judges to manipulate lots here in Edo State. Unless if the police are going to be independent, that will not have things to do with the governors, the judiciary do even have clash most times, if you see how police treat lawyers sometimes, you will never want to become one, therefore if the judiciary can intimidate another judiciary, how much more they will do to others out there who do not know law? We need to educate our police very well as well as the citizens for proper and peaceful atmosphere" Dr. Eholor concluded
