Popular Nollywood Actress Uche Jombo , has commiserated with Victims of the Inferno that occurred Tuesday 18th April, 2023, at the University of Benin Post Graduate Female Hostel, Ekehuan Campus.
She did this during a Phone Chat with ACS President, Mr. Ojo Busuyi-Jobus, where she sympathized with the affected Students and also Commended Porters, well meaning students and some individuals who jumped right into the rescue operation, before the fire service arrived.
“During this trying time, my thoughts are with the Victims that are forcefully bearing the brunt of this Unexpected tragedy."
“Although , I would have made my self available down to the University of Benin to see them myself , I am unable to, due to some reasons, but I got the information and the attention about the victims from All Campus Show, so that I can compensate them from my own end which I have done.“ She Said.
She further urged the students to continue being their brothers Keeper and try their best to avoid such disastrous occurrences in the future.
In fulfilment of her promise, Ms. Uche sent some Food Items and Toiletries across to the undergraduates, through the All Campus Show.
In a bid to deliver the Items sent by the Nollywood actress and Film maker, some of ACS executives led by Ojo Busuyi-Jobus, arrived the School’s premises around 3pm on Monday, and upon their arrival there was a great surge of hope released into the atmosphere, as it enkindled relief on the faces of the affected students.
Addressing the Crowd, Mr. Jobus, thanked the students for their bravery in handling the losses from the incident. He also assured them, that All Campus Show, will continue to render assistance in any way she can, to the affected Students.
Present to receive the items, were ; the Assistant Secretary General of the University of Benin Student Union, Comr. Clinton E., Mayoress of the Magaret Ekpo Hostel, Comr. Aisosa and Comr. Precious, who is the Mayoress, Post graduate Female Hostel as well as other Dignataries on Campus.
A 300l Student from the Department of Theatre Arts named withheld who is a victim of the inferno, expressed appreciation to the Veteran Actress and Members of All Campus Show, for their display of hospitality towards the Students. She said the items is so huge and will go a long way in sustaining Students.
Also Speaking, was a 400 Level Student of Mass Communication, Miss Sandy, who wished that there were more people out there to engage in such humanitarian acts.
According to her “although I have always been seen her on TV , I have never for once imagined, that I will be a beneficiary of her blessings."
“I must Confess that we are impressed by what she has done today, and this has gone into history. We will never forget that at such a time as this, someone like her was there for us. And in our minds we will not just see her as an Actress, but a mother to us Nigerian Students.” She said.
The items will further be distributed equally to each of the affected students, using a list which was earlier compiled on the day of the incident.
