Tory Lanez who is guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot back in 2020 has finally been sentenced in prison for his action.
On Friday, just before the holiday where a group of L.A. jurors found the Canadian rapper guilty of all three charges against him -- felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.
www.tmz.com reported that After the verdict was read, several members of Tory's family -- including his dad and stepmom -- shouted, "This system stands before God!" and calling the court system evil. Deputies surrounded his family members and escorted them out of the courtroom.
Tory was filmed entering court before the verdict was read, telling cameras his spirits were high.
Tory now faces more than 22 years in prison, which will be determined during sentencing on January 27. Sources connected to the case tell us Tory's lawyers were in touch with immigration officials -- before the guilty verdict -- and we're told they've been informed there's a strong likelihood he will be forced to leave the country.
This marks the conclusion of a wild 2 weeks in court, which saw a handful of witnesses take the stand to recount what they say happened on that fateful night. Megan herself obviously testified, squarely pointing the finger at Tory as the shooter.
She also said she saw Tory with the gun, explaining she remembers him firing at her from his Cadillac Escalade ... and claims he shouted, "Dance, bitch!" MTS also testified that Tory offered her $1 million to keep quiet.
Meg was called out by the defense for several items, including the fact she initially wasn't forthright about having an intimate relationship with Tory Lanez, and that she'd initially lied to police about how her feet had gotten injured.
Meanwhile, www.tmz.com also reported the case about R. Kelly's team calling the police alleging that hundreds of his master recordings were stolen ... and now his camp thinks that could be behind the unauthorized release of the new "I Admit It" album.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the Kelly master recordings were reported missing back in February ... swiped from an Illinois storage facility.
Cops say a man named Keith Calbert called to report a theft, telling officers he oversees the Kelly property being stored in the warehouse. Calbert told police several hundred of Kelly's recordings were missing, and he valued them in the millions of dollars.
It's interesting ... cops say Calbert told them 2 roadies removed the masters from the warehouse 9 months prior, and took them to California. Police say Calbert also told them he had advised one of the roadies to bring back the recordings ... but was told he needed to pay $160,000 for their return.
Police say Calbert showed them 10 empty shelves he said used to be full, and estimated between 300 to 500 missing recordings. The police investigation didn't go anywhere and the case was closed with no arrest.
"However, this same R. Kelly was sentenced to jail for rape allegations. He tried to use his fame, fortune and enablers to prey on the young, the vulnerable and the voiceless for his own sexual gratification, while many turned a blind eye,” stated U.S. Attorney Peace. “Through his actions, Kelly exhibited a callous disregard for the devastation his crimes had on his victims and has shown no remorse for his conduct. With today’s sentence he has finally and appropriately been held accountable for his decades of abuse, exploitation and degradation of teenagers and other vulnerable young people.
Moreover, in June this year, A concerned citizen, an activist, the president of One love Foundation International, Chief Patrick Osagie reacted to the incident at Obi Cubana's night club in Lagos. Eholor, who wrote petitions to the Inspector General of Police Nigeria, Human Rights Commission, Grammy Awards, and Nigeria Broadcasting Commission as well as other national forum Using an example of a popular U.S artist, R-Kelly who was recently sentenced 30-years in prisonment over sexual assault, trafficking. He said "despite R-Kelly's fame he was still brought to justice and was sentenced. Same legal decision recently made against Tory Lanez who is found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion and was sentenced to 22yrs in prison.
Chief Dr. Eholor in a statement says relating to this aforementioned legal decisions for societal justice which happened in America is not different from Burna Boy's case which no-one is talking about.
“It doesn't make it right to allow him go Scott free in a law abiding country like Nigeria. Burna Boy's case is equivalent to Tory’s case which landed him 22 years in prison but left Burna boy roaming on the street freely. It is not different from a loosed lions amongst Men. He should be tamed and kept somewhere to avoid more harms. It's not wickedness that makes us say this but a right way a sane society which respect for the law and it people.
America is not better than Nigeria today because of the money or population. It is because of the mind of the people and the system of the government to make things right and respect the Masses.
Moreover, following this incident, you can see that no Celebrity has come out to openly condemn the act, neither have the constituted authorities endeavor to take necessary actions. Whereas, I have written allegations about it to Inspector General of Police as well as Grammy awards in America, Human Rights Commission, NBC and some other national parastatal and forum that is in better condition to bring this to justice. Media should stop promoting him, nobody should buy his music, celebrities should come out to condemn him." Eholor concluded.
