The deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih has finally commented on Edo state PDP crises.
He did so at the annual Edo PDP Christmas/New Year Party in his Country Home of Ogbona in Auchi. During the Celebration, the Chairman disclosed that a Commitee was set up in resolution of the Crisis with Gov. Ortom as the Chairman of the Committee with the party's deputy flag bearer Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Bala Mohammed and other members of the committee, and it was agreed upon for Governor Godwin Obaseki to produce 13 members of the State House of Assembly, against the entire 24 slots which he seeks to usurp. He described the governor's act as a clue that Obaseki wanted no settlement.
He also noted that the Edo South Senatorial ticket was agreed by National of the party to be handed over to Hon. Ogbeide Ihama as a Compensation for his step down in the 2020 Gubernatorial race, which enabled Godwin Obaseki to obtain the Party's ticket at no cost. While the two other senatorial slots wee assigned to Legacy group and Obaseki.
He futher debunked allegations that himself and Hon. Ogbeide Ihama collected the sum of $300,000 from Governor Obaseki.
According to him, Dep. GOV. PHILIP SHAIBU said Gov. Obaseki demanded $300,000 from him to make up funds to settle Hon. Ogbeide Ihama for the Governorship ticket given to Obaseki , only to discover that the ticket came at no cost. Neither did Hon. Ihama request any compensation for stepping down.
In reaction to this shocking revelation, One Love foundation President , Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal, during an interview, advised people contesting under the aegis of PDP in Edo State who are aligned with Obaseki. He described them as hard-working and admonished r them to be awaken to the deceit. Adding that from Dan Obih’s statement, it has become very glaring that the correct list with INEC is that of Chief Dan Orbih. Moreover, the Governor cannot be trusted for lying to his Deputy.
He described the PDP chieftain as the greatest opposition who fought Oshiomole to a stand still, and Commended Chief Dan ,for always engaging in the emancipation of his people for truth and honesty. As he affirms that Gov. Obaseki has met his match but he has refused to accept.
“Chief Dan Orbih is known all around the country for his consistency in always fighting for a just cause . Over the years, he and myself have fought several battles against Oshiomole and we are are an incredible force to be reckoned with in Edo state, Nigeria and perhaps international.
“It's game over for Obaseki, he has met his match. Anyway since it's a party conflict, he should come out plain aand Apologise so that some of his candidates can be carried along to avoid waste of funds, got electoral ambitions”. He said.
Since the Party’s primaries, the PDP has suffered series of unending Crisis which is allegedly fueled by clash of interest which has left Several chapters in Chaos resulting from Crises.
Amongst several crises is the tussle for chairmanship position in the Party, which eventually led to the birth of G-5 Governors. According to several reports Sen. Iyorchia Ayu’s refusal to step down as national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is likely to cost the Presidential Candidate his chances of winning.
