NANS executive sentenced to one year of imprisonmen

Comr. Adeyemi Israel Abiodun, a NANS Executive and the Director of Logistics at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti Chapter, was sentenced to one year in prison for internet fraud totaling N195 million.

The 200-level student of the Economics and Development Studies department was convicted alongside 39 others (each with different charges) before four judges at a High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo state. According to the EFCC, he was arrested for engaging in cyber fraud by impersonation and collecting money and property under false pretense, as well as forgery.

Comr.Abiodun was prosecuted by Justice Iyabo Yerima for the offense of conspiracy to commit forgery. He, however, pleaded guilty to the charges filed by the EFCC and was sentenced to one year of imprisonment.

Currently, the National Association of Nigerian Students has yet to respond to this incident.

We would talk to the NANS Excos to hear the balance story as we know and vouch for our Nigerian students as stand out amongst others in the world.
