National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), results are no longer valid in the admission processes for students seeking to gain direct entry into tertiary institutions.
This information was disclosed by the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Professor Ishaq Oloyede in a policy meeting held in Abuja today.
According to him, the Honorable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, had already confirmed this before the announcement.
Although A’level results by the National Business and Technical Education Board for candidates are no longer accepted, there is an exemption for candidates that have previously obtained the results before the announcements.
Professor Ishaq further identified the challenges encountered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board as examination malpractices, impersonation and substitution of real candidates by imposters, fraudulent CBT owners who sabotage examinations, mass cheating by syndicates, and prolonged investigation and prosecution.
Following the recent statement, A student who had already obtained her certificate prior to this date said, "Although it’s unfortunate that this is coming up now, I am glad I got in before all this,’’ she said.
