BENEFITS AND DANGERS OF YAHOO YAHOO
Internet fraud popularly called "Yahoo Yahoo” or “G” in Nigeria involves using online services and software products with access to the internet to defraud or take advantage of victims.
It is a get-rich-quick scheme where people obtain money online from others by false pretense.
It is a form of stealing, and it is wrong and evil, no matter how people try to justify it.
These criminals leverage their ability to use computers to defraud people i
n the online space.
It is true that due to how the economy is and how underprivileged so many people are, yahoo yahoo is increasing on a daily basis.
The benefit of this scam is to the culprits alone as it gives them a sense of belonging and helps them attain a life of luxury which could be taken away in split seconds.
The truth is, the danger of this “evil” far outweighs the benefits if what was stated above could be seen as a benefit.
The dangers include;
Firstly, they live in fear. This is true because I see how most guys involved in this illicit act walk in fear and hide their gadgets to avoid the prying eyes of SARS and EFCC.
Other consequences include madness, death and even imprisonment for life.
The joy and fame that comes with being a yahoo boy is only for a while, the end is always disastrous.
Some even go as far as using human parts and involving themselves in rituals just to get this money, which usually leads to untimely death and madness.
And for the ones who escape death and madness, they often spend the rest of their lives in prison.
As I said earlier, the benefit of yahoo yahoo to the criminals might be living large and having a life of luxury (that's if this could be called a benefit), but the dangers involved far outweighs the benefits, but the end is always disastrous.
