OONI OF IFE OPENS AN ADIRE TEXTILE PRODUCTION HUB, HARPS ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
It is generally known that Osun State is a home of tye and dye where cloth and traditional fabrics where made with dyes. With this knew, Ile-ife as one of the ancient cities in Osun State dominate by an imperial king OBA ADEYEYE ENITAN OGUNWUSI OJAJA II , the Ooni of Ife, who regenerated the profession of the people of Osun state by founding an Adire hub where adire fabrics in different styles will be manufactured. This factory is a selfless factory as a CSR from the palace of the Ooni of Ife to the public especially the youth to work in it and also to provide clothing for the people. However, this factory is set to produce a local fabrics called adire. In other for this initiative to continue because the western education to an end, so the OBA; THE OONI OF iFE says”the culture must not die, we can only upgrade it, that’s why we produce here a beautiful adire fabric for people that want to do fashion shows, aseobi for weddings, change their walldrobes and also for tailors and fashionistas and the general public to be using adire”
At present, the Ooni of Ife adire hub is the biggest adire company in Nigeria, the Managing Director of this hub, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi says fashion designers and fashionista will have easy access to the Ooni of Ife adire hub by selling to them at whole sale prices. It is a beautiful fabric a we can see on people whenever they wear it. Princess Ronke also said that anybody can wear adire as it can be made as agbada, tee-shiert, trousers, bags, shoes and anything including house curtains as it has different designs and styles. The princess also said that visitors at the adire textile hub will get to spend a night free at Ife Grand Resorts and Leisure, Ile ife . and will get to enjoy the calming and soothing and calming effect of mother nature, animal kingdom with horses, monkeys and ostriches while you choose your indigenous adire fabric and designs, made and customized just for you.
