The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, has invoked the "power of AK-47 fire of God" on his enemies.
Tenebe made the statement during his speech at one of the campaign rallies held as Governor Monday Okpebholo toured the 18 Local Government Areas of the state to galvanise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a viral video of about five minutes and twenty-one seconds, Tenebe spoke about many developments in the country, educating the people, reminding them of the work President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done for the country and canvassing for him to be re-elected in 2027 for more national development.
Towards the end of his statement, Tenebe said, "We will not sleep, we will work hard, we will make sure that those votes are turned in for Mr. President. Those who do not wish us well, who want to create obstacles for you, I have a prayer for you, and that prayer is a lesser prayer, because if you invoke Holy Ghost fire, it is more, if you invoke General Purpose Machine Gun fire, it is lighter, so anybody who refuses, who wants to stand on our way, for us not to have those votes, as we intend to give to Mr. President, AK-47 Fire."
According to him, when the governor made a promise to the president that the state would deliver 2.5 million votes, "our haters, the opposition people and the social media politicians, started asking where such votes would come from in Edo State. The governor had previously proved his critics wrong by mobilising 2,156,800 votes for the party during the last local government elections in the state."
Meanwhile, speaking with an Edo indigene while taking reactions from the public on this matter, Mr. Osamudiamen Omoregie, who described himself as politically neutral, said the statement is not a threat.
He said, "I also watched the video to the end. First, the APC chairman there was laughing when he made the statement. The statement is political language that any politician can make; only his opponents will see it as a threat. If another party man made such a statement, these people would not complain; the APC members would also complain because it is from their political opponent."
Mrs. Ella Iyamu said that political matters should not be judged by emotions: "I cannot take side with one politician against others because all of them are one, friends, and they meet behind the scenes. Therefore, it is foolishness for we the people to start going against one when he speaks like this. I don't see anything wrong in the Holy Ghost fire he said; let fire kill my enemies too."
Tenebe, while speaking with All Campus Show via phone, said it was his prayer, and prayer is to God to help one conquer those he cannot conquer by himself. "Is it now wrong for me to pray against my enemies just the same way everyone does in the church, that people rain Holy Ghost fire on their enemies? That is the same prayer I made to God, but because I want to add mercy to the judgement from God, I skipped Holy Ghost fire, which is bigger; General Purpose Machine Gun fire of God is also big, therefore I went lower to AK-47 Fire of God to finish our enemies," he concluded.
