Though many students go to school intending to graduate, not all will achieve this goal. Some will drop out due to distractions, financial difficulties, pregnancy, expulsion, or even death. Being aware of the challenges students face and taking steps to prevent these obstacles from derailing their education is crucial.
Here are campus killers students should be aware of and take caution towards:
1. Drug abuse: Drug abuse, also known as substance abuse, refers to the harmful and excessive use of drugs. It's a serious problem on college campuses, leading to many student deaths. Students who abuse drugs often make poor decisions and engage in risky behavior, such as sexual activity or violence. They may also suffer from overdose or addiction. We strongly encourage all students to abstain from drug use to protect their health and safety.
2. Depression: Depression is common among students, caused by factors like financial difficulties, stress from schoolmates, and fear of failure. Unsatisfactory support from lecturers and school administrations can exacerbate these issues. We urge school staff to be mindful of their impact on students' mental health. If you or someone you know is suffering from depression, getting help is crucial. Many resources provide support and treatment, and recovery is possible with the right support.
3. Hunger: Some students spend recklessly, whether on partying or showing off to friends. When money runs out, they struggle to afford basics like food, leading to hunger and health issues like ulcers. This affects not just students who overspend but also those who are financially struggling. We encourage students to be financially responsible, help struggling peers, and reach out to us for support. Together, we can ensure everyone has access to necessary resources to thrive on campus.
4. Cultism: Cultism is often violent and dangerous. All Campus Show condemns cultism and activities leading to violence or loss of life. We strongly encourage students to avoid cults and stand up against violence. Together, we can create a safe and peaceful campus community.
