The Edo State Taskforce for the Protection of Government Property has ensured the safeguarding of public infrastructure, preserving vital assets for the state's citizens.
Recently, the task force apprehended suspects vandalizing government property in umoghun nokhua, Orihionmwon Local Government Area. The vandals allegedly stole government farming equipment, such as tractors and bulldozers, dismantling them for sale.
Eugene Okoloise, Managing Director and the coordinator of the taskforce speaking about the arrest, noted that some community members allegedly sold these properties to the vandals.
Meanwhile, there's been a complaint about gridlock at Ramat Park, Benin City, reportedly caused by Guinness Breweries trucks parked by the roadside. Motorists lamented the daily stress they face due to the issue.
Okoloise discussed plans to make the road free for public use.
The taskforce also visited Ugbor Road in GRA following reports of a demolition allegedly done by the Taskforce. Okoloise, debunked the reports, promising that suspects would face judgment and clarifying that their responsibility is to safeguard government properties, not demolish houses.
The taskforce team, led by Eugene Okoloise, visited the iIkhueniro community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area after receiving a petition that some community members had allegedly sold land belonging to the Edo State Government. The team coordinator ordered the stoppage of ongoing activities on the site, pending immediate investigation.
