Edo State Taskforce on Protection for Government Properties keeps taking back Government Properties from land grabbers and illegal occupants.



Some Edo indigenes in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area, have reported the vandalization of high-tension poles by a group of people to the Edo State Task Force on Protection of Government Properties.

The Taskforce team visited the site for investigation and the arrest of the suspects.


 During the visit, the Managing Director and Coordinator of the agency, Eugene Okoloise, alongside a group coordinator, spoke on the arrest of the suspect said they got information that some people were vandalizing the electricity High tension pole, popularly known as 'Power Line'



Okoloise lamented that vandalizing this by the people can cause a fire outbreak if the pole falls.


The Taskforce team visited Michael Sado, the Okpella'gbe of Okpella, reporting the matter and asking for his cooperation to secure the People's lives and government Properties.

 


 Michael Sado hailed and appreciated the Taskforce for their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and government properties and promised his cooperation with the government. He also informed the Taskforce about other government-owned school in the town which has been taken by some individuals. The team visited the school, and Eugene Okoloise promised a thorough investigation and actions would be taken. 



The Taskforce established that all vandalized government properties would be taken back with the support of the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who is committed to rebuilding Edo State for Edo people.



Meanwhile, the Taskforce in another trip visited Ujoelen Grammar School in Ekpoma, Esan West, Edo State, to shut down a brothel cited by the side of the school, which is reportedly built on the government land. 



Okoloise, arrested the owner of the brothel on government land after he had broken the government seal protecting the building.



Although, the principal of the school, Mrs. Okoruwa Annie spoke on the matter, Annie said she was called to mediate on the matter, described and testifying that the school was indeed used for building a hotel by an individual.


At the Elders council, Okoloise stood firm with the elders to support and take back the land for the government and also condemning the act by their son, using government school land to build hotel, Okoloise educating the elders said it's not done anywhere using government house to personal building, building hotel in school environment make it worse.



However In Auchi, Edo North senatorial district, the Taskforce addressed an issue of alleged encroachment on land belonging to the Transport Service.  

Eugene Okoloise gave all occupants a two-week ultimatum to vacate the land belonging to the post office and Edo line.
