The death of 84 members of the Academic Staff Union of University (Asuu) has been reported to happen between May and August saying that the cause of these deaths is due to economic instability and unpaid salaries.
The Asuu chairman Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke said this statement in a appearance at Channels television.
"He also attributed the loss of their members stating that the government continues to withhold salaries while the price of fuel and electricity are soaring high amongst other financial difficulties.
Moreover the Chairman also bashed the federal government for the "no work, no pay policy " and he also called for adequate funding for Universities and for the sector to function well, the Lecturers must be compensated well.
