Condemning the Rush to Judgment: Governor Obaseki's Misguided Indictment and Inflammatory Rhetoric.

In the aftermath of the tragic killing of Inspector Akor Onuh, a mobile policeman, during a political event in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki made a hasty and ill-advised decision to indict Philip Shaibu and Tony Kabaka without a thorough investigation. This rushed judgment not only undermines the due process but also raises questions about the governor's commitment to justice and fairness.

Without a comprehensive investigation, it is impossible to determine the true culprits behind this heinous act. By singling out individuals based on political motives rather than evidence, Governor Obaseki has compromised the integrity of the justice system and fueled further division within the state. We must demand a fair and impartial investigation to ensure that those responsible for Inspector Onuh's death are held accountable.

Furthermore, Governor Obaseki's recent inflammatory remarks, threatening the opposition party with dire consequences should another shooting occur, are deeply concerning. Such rhetoric is unbecoming of a leader and serves only to escalate tensions and incite violence. As the governor of Edo State, it is his responsibility to promote peace and unity, not fan the flames of division.

To the governor's followers, Special Advisors (SA), and Senior Special Assistants (SSA), we must hold you accountable for your role in electing a leader who engages in such reckless and irresponsible behavior. It is crucial that you reflect on the consequences of your support and demand a higher standard of leadership from Governor Obaseki. Praising such conduct only emboldens further recklessness and puts the well-being of Edo State's citizens at risk.

In conclusion, we must collectively condemn Governor Godwin Obaseki's hasty indictments and inflammatory rhetoric. We deserve a leader who upholds the principles of justice, fairness, and unity, and who works tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens. Let us work together to hold our elected officials accountable and strive for a more peaceful and prosperous Edo State.
