After UNIBEN Students Protest Over Poor Electricity Supply


Students of the University of Benin, Ekenwa and Ugbowo Campus protest against lack of electricity supply in the campus.


VC, Prof. Salami in an interview with All Campus Show via phone call said "School paid BEDC Power Holding N80M in an agreement but unfortunately, BEDC failed them."


Following the protest, the Senate of the University has resolved that if dialogue with the students fails and the protest continues, it will have no other option than to shut down the institution.


Although the school has been shut down but the students say protest continues.



From University of Lagos:


The Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Lagos, said the union may consider going on strike if the government does not respond to its demands after all the nationwide protests.


In an interview with one of the student comrades in Lagos, the name witheld person told All Campus Show "ASUU should go on strike, that is the only thing they know how to do, if they go on strike, many students will not come back when resuming and it is because they have failed woefully in their duties, UNILAG students should quickly leave the lecturers to fight for theirselves, did they fight for you hen your SUG was suspended and is there no other way to request or demand their rights? Why can't professors think?" He concluded


Aliko dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, Kano State had successful matriculation ceremony.
