Earlier today, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta hosted staff of the University, FUTMINNA Huawei ICT Global Competition Winning Teams 1& 2, and members of the Student Union to celebrate the welcoming ceremony of the two teams of Students of FUTMINNA who exceled at the Global stage of the Huawei 2024 ICT Competition.
The Director of ITS, FUTMINNA gave a brief background story which led to this success. Stating that 9 teams from FUTMINNA made it to the National Level of the competition, 3 out of those made it to the Regional level and all 3 made it to the Global Stage.
The Vice Chancellor commended the students, instructors and the Director of ITS for their excellence and announced a series of special rewards;
• All examinations missed during the period of the competition would be rewritten in due time.
• The Winning Teams images would be displayed on University structures.
• Those who are still students would have their school fee offset for next session.
• Cash prizes for all nine (9) teams who made it to the National Level.
The Vice Chancellor also commended the Students' Union for creating an enabling environment for opportunities like this and their cooperation and assistance especially in the aspect of publicizing such avenues for talent hunt to the students.
Congratulations once again to the Winning Teams for bringing Global Recognition to FUTMINNA.
