UNILAG: Management meets NAUS, resolves challenges boxing Students' heads.

 

The National Association of University Students, Campus Monitoring Committee (CMC) Lagos has met with the school management on Thursday by sharing Students challenges and the solutions.




The Naus Cmc Lagos engaged in a constructive session with the Dean of Student Affairs at UNILAG, Prof Musa Babalola. The focus was on addressing concerns related to student welfare, particularly the challenges some face in meeting mandatory fees. The university management expressed profound commitment to supporting students, already covering fees for over 400 and will continue to assist more to prevent dropouts.


During the meeting, it was emphasized that no student should feel compelled to leave due to financial constraints. The Dean encouraged students to utilize university resources, including counseling units and the DSA office, for assistance in settling outstanding fees.


Furthermore, discussion on the pressing issues of female students facing harassment by lecturers and the limited bedspace affecting student accommodation. The DSA assured that the university takes a strong stance against harassment and is actively addressing the accommodation challenges.


In a positive move, the university is not only addressing these concerns but also providing job opportunities within the university to empower students. The DSA expressed a willingness to collaborate with NAUS CMC Lagos to ensure the overall welfare of students remains a top priority.


Miracle Yemoh, the Chairman, NAUS CMC Lagos in a briefing with All Campus Show said "It is a good development, University of Lagos has been the number one University in Nigeria and will remain as the best.

 Yemoh also gave kudos to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola for giving the school good atmosphere conducive for the students lives as well as the students cooperation with the management." Yemoh concluded.
