The Global President of One Love Foundation, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor (FoNS) otherwise known as Ultimate Equal has advised Mr. Asue Ighodalo to step down as Governorship aspirant.
The Governorship Election which has been scheduled for September 2024 is around the corner, while many party's aspirants are coming out to show interest in the political game to become the next Governor of Edo State, Asue is also among them.
Where as, there have been dramas that has resulted to some Political slogans in Edo State like 'Edo No be Lagos' This was coined when the Edo people were referring to Oshiomole when acting as the political godfather during the last Governorship Election in Edo.
Also, Oshiomole has previously sent a big message to the present Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu after a crash and clash with his Principal, Oshiomole also refered to Philip Shaibu and told him that "APC is not an IDP camp you can run to..."
Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki's proposed successor, who people believe he is the Governor's candidate; Mr. Asue Ighodalo who is a founding partner of Banwo and Ighodalo, one of the foremost commercial law firms in Nigeria, Asue is also the chairman, Sterling Bank, Director. He was advised by Dr. Eholor (FoNS) not to throw out his money on Governorship that Edo people will not vote for him.
In his Statement, Dr. Eholor said "Asue Ighodalo, where are you going to get the votes to win an election in Edo State?
Edo people don't listen to Godwin Obaseki anymore.
EWOHIMI community is also not with you and Edo North is a no go area.
Edo south is for APC, note that, Chief Dan Orbih and his people are not with Godwin Obaseki, Philip Shaibu is not with his Governor.
"Godwin Obaseki spent 6 billion for ShopRite, he would have known that roads in Benin are terrible.
Godwin Obaseki is currently investing 20 billion when we have high unemployment rate and the state insecurity over 38 people died in cult related matters. Godwin refuse to swore in the judges in Edo State
"I don't have anything against Asuen Ighodalo and I think the Esan people must get it right if they are going to have a chance of winning this election, they should get somebody other than what Godwin Obaseki is recommending and get somebody who has capacity, who has good character. We don't want anybody who has failed abysmally to refer or impose someone on us, we won't accept that as people from Edo South South. Gelegele he made a promise didn't work, Roads in Ekehuan and Ikpoba hill are bad, Egor is the worst. We have no single flyover since Godwin Obaseki came to power, we are one of the most indebted state in the country. Godwin Obaseki is the best MoU Governor, he's a technocrat and we don't want more technocratic anymore to continue from where Goodwin Obaseki has stopped. There is nothing visible that he has done than what the Late Ogbemudia did which he is now renovating and these are not progress, every promises he made 4 + 4 tor GBA did not longer gba anymore.
"I am advising Asuen Ighodalo not to throw out money, he can create an employment ground for the Esan people and then call Federal Government to repair the Esan Road. For me I'm not in politics yet and I'm able to build a school and health centre in Utoka Ovia North East where I am from without waiting or calling on the government. Asuen Ighodalo can do the same without contesting for any position, I don't have anything against him but anyone Godwin Obaseki is bringing in is already dead upon arrival." FoNS concluded
