African is a blessed continent with interesting complexion, culture and natural resources. Whatever Africans do come out excellently.
Taking entertainment industry in the world as a case study, we see that the ruling brands come from Africa, the likes of Rihanna, Michael Jackson, 2Pac, James Brown, Billie Holiday, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Louis Armstrong, Led Belly and so on. The same in the film industry globally, Jammie Fox, Will Smith, Forest Whitaker, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman and lots more of them.
This has proven that Africa as a continent can stand alone in relationship with other continents but not by copying them. Asia as a continent stands alone and there is where China is found, one of the great and powerful Nation in the world, they believe in their language and way of life even religion.
Africa is a blessed continent which has been forced and compelled to not to believe in oneself and this is the post colonial slavery that made us thrown our language away, our religion also is not appreciated by ourselves as well as our color irritate us as many Africans bleach their skin to white.
Although, Christianity has brought so many exposures to the world but in Africa, the way we practice everything we borrowed is abnormal, we are exposed to the negative part such as corruption and evils not societal development, many nations of continents today are developing their society with good governance and technology but Africa, especially Nigeria cannot provide stable power supply for their people, they have discouraged development with corruption and selfishness but pretend to be good every Sunday morning.
bbc.co.uk stated when Christianity entered Africa "Christianity first arrived in North Africa, in the 1st or early 2nd century AD. The Christian communities in North Africa were among the earliest in the world. Legend has it that Christianity was brought from Jerusalem to Alexandria on the Egyptian coast by Mark, one of the four evangelists, in 60 AD.On the downside, Christianity led to the demise of the African customs, which it viewed as pagan and evil; the religion also led to the implementation of apartheid (to which it gave its theological support), and undermined the leadership role of women."
According to www.scielo.org.za
"Religion constitutes an inextricable part of African society. But although religion is flourishing in Africa, many sub-Saharan African countries are amongst the world's poorest nations. Regrettably, according to a recent report of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), nine countries in sub-Saharan Africa rank among the seventeen most corrupt countries in the world (NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency et al. 2012:14).
"In response to the challenges of poverty, corruption and underdevelopment faced on the African continent, Lual Deng (1998:141-146) has called on African intellectuals to look at African history for a possible guide to an appropriate developmental framework that would integrate African social values and institutions in combination with the economic fundamentals included in contemporary development theories. In the same vein, Dele Omosegbon (2010:55) has suggested that the study of African culture and history could provide guidance for future African development. African religions therefore constitute an enormous terrain that overlaps with the socio-political and economic spheres in sub-Saharan Africa and its diaspora."
Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate Equal, the Father of Nigerian Students-FONS and Global President of One Love Foundation spoke with our correspondence today about how we take foreign religion by dumbing ours, he said this is not what God asked from us, what he asked for is to love ourselves for those who read their bible very well, because God himself is Love.
In his words he also said "It is yet another Sunday for Africans most especially Nigerians to look religious and perhaps Holy in our sight. It is yet another Sunday for the so called men of God to cash-out, It is yet another sunday whereby those who don’t go to church are seen as evil. It is yet another sunday whereby even our most corrupt leaders will attend church yet the Pastor won’t tell them the truth.
"Well there are still Good churches around and good men of God that was called by God himself and not those that Called God. Let’s be guided." He concluded.
