Shut Down Doren Dead trap Hospital - Chief Dr. Patrick tells Health Minister.

 


Several negative reactions have arisen, following the death of former Big Brother Naija season 3 housemate, Patrick Fakoya, popularly Known as Rico Swavey.


A 30 seconds video footage which went viral showed nurses of Doren hospital laughing amidst Rico’s deteriorating health on the video, the deceased was placed on oxygen as he was unconscious on a chair.



Recall that a Human Rights activists and the founder of One Love Foundation, Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor otherwise known as Ultimate equal, previously faced a similar experience in the same Doren hospital where he was left unattended to due to lack of adequate funds to commence treatment. 


According to Patriot Patrick, he was told by the Doctor on duty that he will die, but he was still denied treatment because of instant finance requirements at the moment. He described this as unethical in the medical profession which is saddled with the responsibility of saving lives.


As a the time of this report, several Media platforms have called out the hospital’s management and some Nigerians have taken to their social media pages to critic the act, the Doren Hospital which is situated at Thomas Estate in Ajah has lot of complains like this.


Chief Dr. Patrick Osagie Eholor has on Friday reacted to news about Rico's death. In an online interview with our correspondent, He condemned the act of the nurses in charge and demanded that they should be sanctioned. 


The Lagos State government has however probed the Doren Hospital for the incident and other allegations against the hospital.


Moreover, our correspondence spoke to one of the Doren Hospital staff this morning to confirm the incident, the hospital staff agreed Rico was brought but she denied he didn't die in the hospital, the video of the nurse recording him is an evidence that have gone viral and as a means of the fact that they didn't take the incident as emergency which can truly lead to the death of the patient.


He further charged the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire again, to review the ethics of the medical profession and also called for the immediate closure of the Doren hospital. According to him, they have gone from the actual business of saving lives to being a money-oriented organization.
