NANS Finally takes Protest actions, blocks busiest country expressway.

Nigerian Students gathered under the auspices of NANS on Tuesday morning engaged in a peaceful protest in Shagamu axis, blocking the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The Protest is in regard to the Prolonged ASUU strike. 


In an interaction with Comr. Ambassador Bestman a Former national public relations officer of NANS and President of Progressive Student movement, Said that the students are protesting for the strike to be called off urgently and for the proper funding of the education sector, stating that Nigerian students mechanism and welfare should be the priority of the government. 

He further said that the National assembly should pass a bill that will prohibit political office holders from accessing education and health care in Diaspora, coin pointed it as the basic reason why the education sector suffers. 


The students vowed to persist with the protests until the strike is resolved despite the appeals from the police and citizens to open the road. They however, agreed to do so for 10 mins with constant pleads from security personnels around. 

Another protester in person of Comr Adeleke Abidemi popularly known as Asiwaju who is the chairman National Association of Nigerian students from Oyo state students campus council  bemoaned the sad effects of the strike, and begged the federal government to resolve the strike addressing it a matter of urgency.


Recent deliberations between the government and Academic staff union of universities in court kick started yesterday, but however, the verdict is yet unknown as the court adjourned the proceedings till Friday.

All Campus show reports that the strike has been on for 211 days and still counting.
