For its national convention, which is set to start on August 25, the National Association of Nigerian Students has started making serious preparations. The ancient parade ground, Area 10, Garki Abuja, is where the five-day convention will take place.
Recall that a convention planning committee was established by the NANS president and Senate members to monitor election preparations this year by the Constitution. To prepare for the upcoming national election, the convention planning committee has started conducting proper candidate screening alongside other security authorities.
While making these preparations, NANS has so far made heroic attempts to end the ongoing ASUU strike. But ASUU's conflict with the federal government seems not ordinary and since NANS have visited the Minister for Education, which eventually resulted in the Minister walking away, before the Adebayo led government.
After highlighting that, we hope that the new president would have another idea or strategy to help resolve ASUU strike. Hopefully, the convention coming August 25th, 2022 for election of new offices may bring fortune to Nigerian student with the hope of ending the ASUU strike.
