Edo State Born Human Rights Activist, also called the Observer General of Democracy in Nigeria -Chief Dr. Patrick Eholor, has called on all Lawyers in Nigeria, to Boycott all Courts in Akwa Ibom. This is in protest against the unholy alliance between the Governor of Akwa Ibom State -Gabriel Udom Emmanuel and the Acting Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State -Justice Obot which had culminated in the unjust detention of Human Rights Activist -Inibehe Effiong.
Chief Patrick Eholor stated further thus :
"A cursory appraisal of the Affidavit in support of the motion for the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State reveals congent and compelling reasons to believe the Chief Judge has breached the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers and the Oath of Office for Judicial Officers as there is a positive deposition on Oath that the Chief Judge attended the Wedding of the son of Senator Effiong Bob a Party in a Sister case in which Inibehe Effiong is Counsel for the Defendant, which is at variance with the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers , which states that Judges should not have compromising relationships with litigants in a Matter .
The Presence of two mobile police men inside the Court to intimidate the Lawyer amounts to Judicial Terrorism , as there was no threat, real or perceived. That warrants such highly reprehensible abuse of Power.
