A Major Win for Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro

Another Nigerian graduate has been awarded seven fully funded Ph.D. scholarships at seven prestigious universities in the United States.

This rare opportunity comes shortly after Oluwafunmilayo’s notable academic achievement.

According to a report on Legit.ng Islamiyat, graduated from Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun state, studying Science Laboratory Technology.

Although she was supposed to have obtained a masters degree before owning a Phd degree, Islamiyat luckily eluded the usual process laid out to be granted scholarships to obtain PhDs at the following institutions: Florida State University, University of Massachusetts Armherst, University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, University of North Texas, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Marquette University.

After thinking cheerfully, she accepted Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA to be her choice of institution.

Following her achievement, she made this outstanding announcement on her LinkedIn.

"Considering the dichotomy between HND and BSc in Nigeria, I was scared and confused about what next to do after my undergraduate studies.

I am so elated to inform you all that I will be starting my PhD program in Chemistry at the Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA this fall, having received full scholarships from 7 universities in the United States of America with my Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry Major)."

In celebrating the outstanding achievements of Funmilayo and Ismaliyat, an Ambrose Ali University student said that in the near future, she hopes to replicate such achievements for herself and her institution when she graduates.
