Wizkid and Davido: Who is better in the music career?

Wizkid and Davido have been the fans' discussion and topic for some time now. These heartthrobs have released lyrical jams that have kept many dancing and vibing for overtime, with significant hits across the country and Africa. While many sing the diligence rise to fame of Wizkid, others differ, saying Davido, who claims he represents the new school and is regarded as 'the king of contemporary afrobeat, may owe many of his achievements to the wealth of his father.

For every success story, there's always a tale. For Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, rising from obscurity to the limelight didn't happen overnight. His humble beginnings were faced with a lot of hustling and striving to write songs and create a career for himself. He had the pleasure of working with a variety of upcoming artiste, until his preparedness, skills, and tenacity captured the eyes of Banky W, the record owner of Empire Mates Entertainment.

Leading on, the Afropop and Afrobeat singer has won a slew of international and local awards over the years, including the Bet Award for Best International, the MTV Video Music Award, the Choice Award, among many others, as well as a Grammy for featuring on Beyonce's "Brown Skin Girl," which peaked at number one on the World Digital Song Sales chart in October 2020.

On the other hand, Davido, also known as Omo Baba Olowo, may have had it simpler as the son of one of Nigeria's wealthiest and most influential figures. His meteoric rise to fame has elicited both favorable and unfavorable responses. His smash single "Dami Duro" from his album OMO BaBa OLOWO won the Next Rated award at The Headies after being released in 2012. His lyrical prowess has produced a flare with his choice of words and Afrocentric sound, making him famous in mainstream pop music.

While these two artists, Wizkid and Davido, are incredible talents, they have been embroiled in a Twitter feud, with followers claiming that they both regard themselves as potential threats.

@ Aivokhaij   Even if Davido quits the music industry in the next 30years, he will still be a threat and be dragging fame with Wizkidayo. Davido is more relevant in the music industry.

@yusulffigure  Ok nice…Davido will still swallow him since Wizkid came in 2009 and Davido came in 2010, davido has been suffering wizkid. The biggest threat to wizkid is Davido.

@IamideDahuns  Wizkid will always be a threat to Davido and his fans with or without saying a word.

@Wizkidfc01  Wizkid's album in the US vs David's career in the US, but his fans will tell you Davido is bigger than Wizkid in the US. Fanbase is full of clowns.

@Yusulf.  Davido and Wizkid are obsessed with each other…obviously, each of them are big threats to each other!

Conversely, comparing both artiste is childish because they are distinctive in their own ways, fans should rather embrace their uniqueness and support them instead of otherwise.

Meanwhile, only time will tell if their turbulent relationship will resolve, but in the meantime, let the music industry's controversies continue to rage.
