Ilorin -The National Association of French Teachers (NAFT) Kwara State Chapter's Chairperson, Mrs. Comfort Ayano, has congratulated and welcomed all primary and secondary school teachers and students back to school for a new academic session.
In a press briefing with journalists today in Ilorin, Ayano wished all educators and students a safe and happy resumption. She hailed parents and guardians for their massive efforts and contributions toward their children's academic growth and progress.
Ayano described holidays as a necessary break for students' minds to be refreshed, emphasizing the collaboration between teachers and parents in securing a better future for children through standard education. She said "As we teachers are their parents in school, likewise parents are their teachers at home, it's an interesting collaboration to secure a better future for the children in order to have a standard education that positively affects their future and destiny."
She praised parents who have invested in their children and commended teachers for the wonderful work they have been doing in schools through the supports of our past and present day government.
Ayano highlighted the importance of education, stating, "Education is the light of all nations, and proper investment in education brings a better future for all lives, as students who are learning today become the leaders of tomorrow."
She also mentioned the success recent National Congress of NAFT, hosted by the French Embassy in Abuja, and the chapter's plea to the Kwara State government to help promote French in the state by recruiting more French teachers in government schools.
"The Kwara State chapter is ready to promote French language growth in the state. Long live Nigeria! Long live Kwara State! Long live French Language!" Ayano concluded
